We’re pleased to offer Sciton Resurfacing using the Sciton Laser to improve damaged skin, eliminate age spots, reduce fine wrinkles, and superficial scarring. Sciton Resurfacing will give you more dramatic results but you will need to plan for up to 2 weeks of “down time.”
Safe and Effective Treatments
DermaTouch, RN uses the most advanced laser technology for superficial skin resurfacing. The benefit of Sciton Resurfacing is that it can be performed with minimal down time.
How does Sciton Resurfacing work?
Erbium: YAG Laser light is highly absorbed by water in the superficial layer of the skin. This results in ablation or reduction of the superficial skin. Your medical professional at DermaTouch, RN will analyze your skin condition and help you select the most effective Sciton Resurfacing treatment for you.
When will you see results of Sciton Resurfacing?
The effects of Sciton Resurfacing are cumulative. After the first treatment you will see improvements in pigment and skin texture within a few days. Other improvements will be more subtle and may take one to three months to appear. Friends may suggest that you look more rested. With each subsequent Sciton Resurfacing treatment, subtle changes will accumulate until you have achieved the improvement you desire.
How often can you have Sciton Resurfacing done?
A series of three to five Sciton Resurfacing treatments, spaced two to six weeks apart, is our standard recommendation. Occasionally, more treatments may be needed for certain individuals or conditions. Periodic occasional maintenance treatments may be prescribed for optimal, lasting results.
What can you expect immediately post-treatment?
Immediately following Sciton Resurfacing you may experience some redness and swelling. The redness and swelling usually dissipates within one to three days. After that, peeling may occur for one to three days. After a Sciton Resurfacing treatment, makeup may be applied to the treated area with physician approval. Also, it is extremely important to apply a moisturizer, SPF45 sun block, and avoid sun exposure on a daily basis to reduce any potential side effects.
How long does Sciton Resurfacing take?
A Sciton Resurfacing treatment takes approximately 15-30 minutes. If prescribed, topical anesthetics should be applied 30-90 minutes before the treatment time.
