DermaTouch RN Now Offers Sciton’s Halo Treatment!

DermaTouch RN is excited to bring Sciton’s Halo Treatment to our clients. If you’re tired of seeing sun spots, fine lines, and lack of luster in your skin, then the Halo treatment could be for you!

What does a Halo treatment do for your skin?

Per the official Halo website, “Over time, your skin can lose its youthful glow due to sun exposure and your body’s natural aging process. As a result, your body may develop sun spots, fine lines, and loses that natural healthy glow. Previous lasers couldn’t effectively remove this damage, because the treatment was either too shallow or too deep. Halo eliminates years of damage by precisely targeting the right depth. Halo restores the luminous glow you had when you were younger.”

What are some of the benefits of the Halo technology?

Aside from the healthy glow you’ll receive with the Halo technology, you can also look forward to:

 • Customizable treatment to precisely target skin damage
 • Improvement in the appearance of tone, texture, fine lines* and wrinkles
 • Reduces pore size
 • Flexibility in treatment levels
 • Great results with minimal downtime

What can I expect during treatment?

Thirty minutes to an hour before the treatment your clinician may place a topical anesthetic on your skin to reduce the sensation during the procedure. The area will be measured with motion tracking technology to ensure the area is treated evenly. The clinician will treat each measured section by uniformly rolling the Halo handpiece over the skin until the system recognizes the treatment is complete.

What types of results can I expect?

To see real results from real patients, visit the Halo Testimonial Page. You’ll receive great results with little downtime!

Repair Summer Skin Damage with Chemical Peels & Lytera 2.0!

Now that we’re a few weeks into fall, our trips to the beach are less frequent and our tans are beginning to fade. What might remain, however, is sun damage. Skin discoloration, “age” spots, fine lines and wrinkles, and skin ruddiness can all be signs of sun damage of the skin. Fortunately, there are ways to treat skin damage and reverse the signs of aging as a result.

At DermaTouch RN, we offer the latest in technology and products to treat and reverse the signs of sun damage, including laser technology, chemical peels, and SkinMedica products.

Use SkinMedica Chemical Peels & Lytera 2.0 Pigment Correcting Serum to reverse sun damage.

SCITON BBL (Broad Band Light) LASER

The Sciton BBL is a laser therapy that treats sun-damaged skin and fine lines. Results can often be seen after one treatment, though a series of treatments is often recommended for optimal results. Patients with photo-aging and photo-damage frequently benefit from this type of laser therapy.

This SkinMedica peel is awesome when it comes to increasing the skins vibrancy. It also reduces the appearance of wrinkles, roughness, and fine lines caused by the sun with little to no discomfort or downtime!

If you’re looking for smoother looking skin, then the Rejuvenize Peel by SkinMedica is a great choice. It works best for moderate to severe skin perfections and smoothes the appearance of wrinkles, roughness, and fine lines. Similar to the Vitalize Peel, there’s little to no discomfort or downtime after treatment.

SkinMedica is known for powerful products that provide results, and Lytera 2.0 Pigment Correcting Serum is no exception. Formulated to address the appearance of skin discoloration, Lytera 2.0 is great for those with stubborn sun damage and is appropriate for all skin tones and types.

For the month of October, we’re offering specials to treat Summer Skin Damage and Sun Damage at DermaTouch RN!

As part of our October monthly specials, we’re offering two packages to support our clients in treating summer and sun skin care damage:

Celebrate National Women’s Health & Fitness Day with DermaTouch RN of Houston!

Women’s Health & Fitness Day is Wednesday, September 27 of this year and will be held on the last Wednesday of September annually. Being one of the nation’s largest annual health promotion events for females from children on up to the elderly, we at DermaTouch RN encourage women to participate in the event and give focus to their health and well-being not only on the event day but every day going forward. Organizations throughout the U.S. will participate to support the health and fitness of women, from schools, clinics, health clubs, senior centers, and more.

DermaTouch RN of Houston offers free consultations for not only skin care and cosmetic needs, but for overall well-being with bio-identical hormone replacement therapy that supports our health from the inside out. Other ways we can help you support your overall health include fat reduction and treatment of other common skin conditions, such as rosacea and skin warts.

Fat Reduction

Kybella is a great treatment for fat reduction under the chin, or submental fat. No matter how hard some exercise, the fat under the chin remains. Kybella is injected into fat cells, which are then destroyed and eliminated from the body. The healthy cells remain. The number of injections and treatments vary depending on the patient ‘s needs.

SculpSure allows you to permanently melt away fat around the flank areas and abdomen. Developed by Cynosure, SculpSure uses advanced laser technology to heat and melt away fat in target areas while leaving visceral fat untouched. The fat loss is permanent, and the number of treatments required depends on the severity of the fat and desired results.

Hormone Replacement Therapy

Balanced hormones mean optimal health from the inside out. Over time, our hormone levels can decrease, leading to unwanted symptoms like tiredness, mood swings, and more. At DermaTouch RN, we use BioTE® all natural Bio-Identical Hormone Pellet Therapy to support the replacement of hormones in the most natural way possible.

Other Common Skin Conditions

With advanced laser technology, DermaTouch RN can treat several common skin conditions, including acne scarring, rosacea, skin warts, and tattoo removal.

Celebrate Women’s Health & Fitness Day with DermaTouch RN next week! Contact us today for a free consultation to find out how we can help you improve your overall health and well-being.

Is Dysport Right for You?

Dysport is an FDA approved prescription to relax the muscles that cause frown lines on the forehead and crows feet around the eyes. It came on the market in 2009 and was the first competitor to Botox, which had been on the market since 2002. At DermaTouch RN, we offer both Botox and Dysport, and we often get the questions, “What’s the difference?”

Dysport is very similar to Botox.

Similar to Botox, Dysport is a Botulinum Type A Neurotoxin used to relax muscles that cause crows feet and frown lines on the forehead.

How is Dysport different than Botox?

Botox is a larger molecule than Dysport, meaning it requires more Dysport to achieve a similar result to Botox. Botox is also more per unit, though because it requires more Dysport to achieve a similar result, the cost saving is minimal when compared to Botox.

As far as results, Botox typically takes 4 to 6 days to see an initial effect and Dysport typically takes 2 to 5 days.

Dysport is $1.00 off this month!

For the month of September, we’re offering Dysport at $3.00 per unit. And even if it’s not on special, you can’t beat $4.00 per unit for Dysport. So stop in or contact us today to set up your free consultation today to determine if Dysport is right for you!

We also believe educating our patients is a priority. For more information on Dysport, refer to our Dysport Q&A.

Get Rid of Ingrown Hairs and Shaving Bumps for Good!

You probably don’t give a lot of thought to shaving bumps, or their official name (Pseudo Folliculitis or PFB), unless you have one or get them frequently. We see patients who have this issue at DermaTouch RN, and fortunately, we have the technology to make shaving bumps and ingrown hairs history!

What causes ingrown hairs or shaving bumps (PFB)?

Shaving bumps are caused by a foreign body inflammatory reaction involving papules and pustules. The pathogenesis of PFB is caused by:

 1. Extrafollicular penetration that occurs when hair reenters the skin after a close shave.
 2. Transfollicular penetration that occurs when the sharp tip of a growing hair pierces the follicle wall after a close shave.

Laser hair removal is the best way to get rid of Shaving Bumps and Ingrown Hairs!

DermaTouch, RN provides the most advanced FDA approved laser technology to help reduce and eliminate Pseudo Folliculitis (PFB), aka shaving bumps. This advanced technology allows us to treat all ethnic groups and skin types safely and effectively in the Houston, TX area.

How does Laser Hair Removal Work?

The light of the laser is absorbed by pigment in actively growing hair. this process damages the hair follicle, resulting in the absence or re-growth. The average client sees at least a 75% short-term reduction of shaving bumps within two weeks after just one or two treatments.

How many treatments will I need for optimal results?

Because only a portion of your hair is in the active phase at the time of treatment, a series of treatments is recommended for permanent hair removal. Typically, 6 to 8 treatments will be required for long-term effects. Treatments are spaced 4 to 12 weeks apart depending on the anatomical position of the hair and hair growth cycles.

How long does laser hair removal last?

Typically, laser hair removal is permanent. One or two annual touch-up treatments may be required after completing the initial treatment series.

At DermaTouch RN, we have very competitive pricing on Laser Hair Removal packages in Houston. Contact us today to find out how we can help you get rid of shaving bumps for good!

Getting Wedding Ready to Look Your Best (Within Four Months or Less)!

It’s that time of year. Weddings are in the air! If you’re getting married in the near future, you, of course, want to look and feel your best for what’s considered to be one of the most important days of your life! Or, maybe you’re the mother or the bride or groom, and you too, want to look your best. At DermaTouch RN, we’re here to help with our pre-wedding suggestions that we’ve outlined below. You’ll be able to show up for the big day with your head held high!

More than four months out:

If you still have some time before the big day arises, consider Ultherapy to lift the chin, neck and brow area, while also smoothing the lines on the chest. Ultherapy is a way to lift without going under the knife. This FDA-approved treatment is non-invasive and supports the body in producing and regenerating collagen production through the use of ultrasound. One great thing about Ultherapy is the images that are taken before and after treatment that prove it’s working!

It’s can take two to three months for maximum results to appear, so you want to come in at least four months before the wedding day for a consultation and treatment.

Two to four months out:

Facials and Chemical Peels

We all want that beautiful glow, especially on our wedding day. Facials are great skin treatments to get rid of skin impurities to refine and hydrate the skin. Chemical Peels are a more intense treatment to consider, as well. The appearance of fine lines, acne, rosacea, and overall skin texture and tone can be improved with facials and chemical peels. It often takes a series of facials or peels for maximum results, which is why you want to come in at least two to four months out (four is best) to allow time between each treatment.

Get rid of those fine lines on the forehead and crows feet around the eyes with Botox before the big day. It can take up to a week for Botox to work, and results last four to six months, depending on the patient, areas treated, and the number of units used. You want to allow enough time for touch-ups, so at least a month out is best for Botox.

Dermal Fillers

Dermal fillers like Juvederm and Voluma can help add volume to the face and minimize the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles around the mouth, as well as the depth of nasolabial folds. To allow for touch-ups and to get the results you’re looking for over time, you want to have fillers injected at least two to three months out, if not more. It can take more filler than one realizes for desired results, which is also why from a budget perspective, giving yourself more time is helpful.

At DermaTouch RN, we love helping the bride-to-be and mother-of-the-bride (or groom) feel and look their best. Contact us today to schedule a free consultation to put a game plan together to help you prep for your big day. So, when the big day comes, you’ll be able to walk into the room with confidence!

Get a Sharper Neckline without Surgery!

Copyright: dolgachov / 123RF Stock PhotoOne of the top concerns of the individuals who walk through our doors is the appearance of their neckline. Fortunately, there are a number of treatment options one can turn to without going under the knife!

Consider Botox to relax the muscles of the neck.

For many people, relaxing the Masseter Muscle and Platysmal Bands can make a huge difference in the appearance of their neckline. The Masseter Muscle is the muscle that helps you chew. For many, it can be very obvious and protruding. By injecting a few units of Botox into the muscle, it can help to relax it, giving the neckline a smoother appearance. At the same time, the Botox will not inhibit an individual’s ability to chew.

The Platysmal Bands are the bands in the neck that protrude when you clench your teeth. Some individuals have very defined Platysmal Bands, while others don’t. For those that do, many turn to Botox to relax these bands for a sharper neckline.

Kybella is a great solution to melt away fat under the chin.

Kybella is a prescription approved by the FDA to treat moderate to severe submental fat, or “double chin,” that works like deoxycholic acid. Deoxycholic acid naturally occurs in the body to absorb fat. A series of Kybella injections are used to destroy unwanted fat cells under the chin, leaving a smoother appearance.

Ultherapy works to lift and tighten the chin area.

Ultherapy is an ultrasound therapy used to stimulate the deep dermal layer of the skin through small thermal bursts. These bursts stimulate the skin to support the production of collagen, which with time, can tighten and lift the skin. Ultherapy also allows for image capture, so a patient can truly see the difference in the deep layer of their skin over time.

With all of these treatments options, it gives us the ability to develop a plan specific to each individual to target the true concerns of the neckline. One patient might only need Botox, where another might need a combination of any of the above. Results vary based on the patient’s needs and the type and amount of treatment used.

At DermaTouch RN, we take the time to listening to our patients without pushing treatments on them that aren’t necessary. The patient always comes first. Contact us today to schedule a free consultation to determine the best treatment options for your neckline or any of your cosmetic or skin concerns.
