High-Quality SkinMedica Skin Care Products at DermaTouch RN

At DermaTouch RN, we’re committed to bringing only the best services and products to our patients, and SkinMedica skin care products, an Allergan product, fall within that scope. SkinMedica has “dedicated years of research to formulate advanced skin care products to deliver optimal results for our patients and the physicians who care for them.”

SkinMedica is a name you can trust.

Our patients love SkinMedica products. Why? Because they see results when they use them as directed. SkinMedica was founded by Physicians committed to “advancing the science of skin rejuvenation through research and innovation.” Using research and clinical data, SkinMedica products are formulated for long-term results vs. a short-term fix by using science to work with the skin’s natural healing properties. As a result, transformation happens from the inside out.

Don’t be fooled by online sellers of SkinMedica products.

SkinMedica only sells their products to establishments with a licensed physician on board. If you’re purchasing your products online or through an establishment without a licensed physician, then beware. SkinMedica recently released a list of companies that are selling their label illegally. You can read more about product fraud in our recent blog, “Beware of Skin Care Cosmetic Fraud.”

Let DermaTouch RN help you determine the best SkinMedica products for you.

Renee Moschitto, DermaTouch RN Founder

To continue our blog series on skin care products offered at D ermaTouch RN that provide proven results, we thought it would be fun to share what our Founder, Renee Moschitto, had on her list of favorite products! Below, we’ve provided her top 5 products offered at DermaTouch RN and what their benefits are (which is why she loves them!).

SkinMedica‘s TNS Essential Serum is an “all-in-one rejuvenating treatment” that’s appropriate for all skin types. It helps to improve the appearance of wrinkles, fine lines, skin texture and tone. As reported on SkinMedica’s site, 92% of those who tried TNS Essential Serum “rated their skin as looking healthier and more youthful, reduced the appearance of wrinkles, and enhanced skin texture and tone. Initial results occurred in 30 days with optimal results occurring in 90 days.” You can read more about this study by visiting the TNS Essential Serum page.

SkinMedica’s GlyPro Antioxidant Serum is a Glycolic rejuvenation appropriate for all skin types. It soothes skin, provides a barrier against free radicals, and fights the appearance of premature aging.

SkinMedica’s AHA/BHA Exfoliating Cleanser is appropriate for all skin types. It gently exfoliates and scrubs away dead skin cells to improve the appearance of skin texture and tone.

HA5 is a Hyaluronic Acid skin hydrator. It is suitable for all skin types and helps reduce the appearance of aging by hydrating the skin. We all love this product so much that we recently dedicated a blog to discuss it in more detail: We Love SkinMedica’s HA5 (Hyaluronic Acid) Product at DermaTouch RN!

Oxicell, by Apex Energetics, is a rejuvenating topical cream “formulated with glutathione and superoxide dismutase, along with alpha lipoic acid, CoQ10, S-adenosyl L-methionine, and vitamins B2 and B3.” These ingredients are powerful vitamins and antioxidants to help fight free radicals and reduce the signs of aging.

Dana’s Favorite Skin Care Products for Acne Prone Skin

Dana Mendoza, Practice Manager

As we explore some of our top skin care products at DermaTouch RN, we thought it made sense to share the products that some of our employees love to use. After all, they are walking, talking testimonials that our clients get to see every day!

Dana Mendoza, our Practice Manager, shared, “I have acne prone skin, so I use the Obagi Clenziderm acne products and SkinMedica’s Recovery Complex. I love the results!”

So, why does Dana rave about these products? We’ve shared more about them and how they work below.

The OBAGI Medical brand has become a leader in the skin care industry. The high-quality ingredients provide benefits for the skin with results that are visible and last when used as directed.

Per Obagi’s website, the CLENZIderm M.D.™ System is a “three-step acne treatment with clinically proven benzoyl peroxide to help control adult acne for a clearer, healthier-looking complexion.” The system includes a 3-step process:

  1. Daily Care Foaming Cleanser: This cleanser contains 2% salicylic acid that unclogs pores while washing away dead skin cells. Calming menthol is included to help relieve and cool irritated skin.
  2. Pore Therapy: Pore Therapy contains 2% salicylic acid to unclog pores and remove dead skin cells. It preps the skin for the next step in the acne treatment.
  3. Therapeutic Lotion: This lotion contains 5% BPO. It’s a lightweight treatment “uniquely formulated to help clear acne.”

SkinMedica, by Allergan, is another trusted name in the skin care and cosmetic industry.

The TNS Recovery Complex is appropriate for all skin types and has been “clinically shown to reduce the appearance of skin discoloration and improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.”

We Love SkinMedica’s HA5 (Hyaluronic Acid) Product at DermaTouch RN!

For our next series of blog posts, we want to share with you some of our favorite skin care products that we offer at DermaTouch RN. We focus on products backed by science and results. HA5, by SkinMedica, is one of those products.

HA5 is a Hyaluronic Acid skin hydrator that adds value to any skin care regimen. It is suitable for all skin types and is easy to use. You simply apply it in the morning and night after cleansing and toning, but before moisturizing. HA5 works great on the neck, face, and décolleté areas where wrinkles and fine lines exist.

What is Hyaluronic Acid?

Hyaluronic Acid is a natural hydrator for your skin. It is naturally found in the skin and helps keep skin healthy and resilient by holding in moisture. Hyaluronic Acid decreases as we age, with only 50 percent left between the ages of 40 to 50 when compared to what your body had at the age of 20. It’s important to replenish Hyaluronic Acid as we age to help minimize signs of aging.

How does HA5 work?

Per SkinMedica‘s website “HA5 supports the skin’s ability to replenish its own HA for overall skin health. HA5 has a proprietary mix of five HA forms that smooth the skin, thereby decreasing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. The 5 HA’s work synergistically to provide immediate smoothing and continuous hydration throughout the day.”

Another component that sets HA5 apart from other Hyaluronic Acid products is its VITISENCETM Technology. This technology “harnesses potent antioxidants found in Vitis Flower Stem Cells and algae extracts to support skin’s ability to replenish its own HA.” This allows for long-term hydration and healthier looking skin. Other topical Hyaluronic Acid products only focus on hydrating the skin’s surface for a temporary period of time.

There is a difference between moisturizing and hydration.

Though it might seem surprising, there is a difference between hydration and moisturizing. Hydration actually increases the water level in the skin, which helps to fight the signs of aging, whereas moisturizing is the process that helps the skin feel like it’s hydrated. HAincreases the water level within the skin, and as such, is a hydration product.

DermaTouch RN is here to help!

With more than 10 years of experience, DermaTouch RN is has tried and tested several skin care products to determine what’s best for our clients. Contact us today for a consultation to determine if HA5 is right for you!
